Why Be an IFAC Member?

        • IFAC combines scientific, regulatory, and communications activities to support the food ingredient industry, and the majority of IFAC’s work is done through three committee programs. IFAC is based in the U.S. but has a truly global footprint to support its members.
        • IFAC promotes the benefits of food ingredients, ‎advocates for science-based regulations and ‎policies worldwide, unites industry ‎stakeholders, and cultivates a professional, responsible, ‎and sustainable global food ‎environment.‎
        • IFAC serves as a resource on national and international regulatory issues for its member ‎‎companies, regulatory agencies, standard setting bodies, and allied organizations.‎

IFAC is a global association representing manufacturers of food ingredients, including food additives. Membership is open to any company or organization that produces or is engaged in the operations associated with producing or using food ingredients. Below are brief descriptions of IFAC’s membership categories.

Primary Member

Primary Members are corporations, partnerships, or other businesses engaged in the manufacture of food ingredients, either direct or indirect. Primary Member dues are based on U.S. sales of relevant food ingredients. 

User Member

End-User Members are corporations, partnerships, or other businesses engaged in the manufacture of foods and beverages that contain food ingredients manufactured by IFAC Primary Members. End-User Member dues are a fixed fee ($25,000 annually) and membership is subject to approval by the IFAC Board.

Associate Member

Associate Members are any organization which is neither a manufacturer nor and end-user of food ingredients, but is engaged in the operations associated with, related to, or interested in, the food ingredients industry. Associate Member dues are a fixed fee ($6,443 annually) and membership is subject to approval by the IFAC Board. 

Contributing Non-Member

Contributing Non-Members are any corporation, partnership, or other businesses engaged in the manufacture of food ingredients which wishes to support an IFAC program but does not qualify as a Primary Member. Contributing Non-Members do not pay membership dues; rather, their contributions are based on the program of interest and subject to approval by the IFAC Board. 

Individual Member

Individual Members are any individual who does not serve as a direct employee, consultant, or contractor of any corporation, partnership, business, or business association that would otherwise qualify as a Primary, End-User, or Associate Member, and is interested in contributing to IFAC activities. Individual Member dues are a fixed fee ($150 annually) and membership is subject to approval by the IFAC Board.
